This Acadia Pear paint was the perfect accompaniment to the adorable “froggy” transfer I used to transform this very dated breadbox!

Hello sweet friends!

Acadia Pear Paint Makeover – Artsy Chicks Rule®

I hope you have had a wonderful fall so far. It’s not feeling too much like fall around here…yet. But looks like next week we will start getting some cooler temps! This summer loving-warm weather girl is ready, can you believe that?! haha!

On another note, it’s been a heavy and hard week or two for so many since the hurricane ravaged through NC and TN. (and elsewhere!) So much devastation and loss. And now another one is headed directly for our beloved Anna Maria Island (and a very large part of Florida) which also got hit with Helene. So sad and terrifying really! Praying so hard for everyone that have been in the paths of these hurricanes and the aftermath that they must now deal with. (and will deal with to come!) If anyone is reading from those areas (or have loved ones in those areas), just know that you have been in my prayers!!

I sent an email over the weekend to let everyone know about 7 brand new paint colors! If you missed it, you can check them out right here >>> ACR Shop

So many great ones I can not wait to try! Well, I tried one today! Acadia Pear, which is described like this: A gentle green with yellow undertones and a silver cast. This mid-tone shade is both charming and elegant, reminiscent of sunlit foliage.

This little bread box got a whole new look with it!

I knew I wanted to use one of the new colors and I considered the new Lavender Haze or Velvet Plum shades too. Also under consideration for this makeover, was maybe a girly little box using these pretty ballerina moulds.

I even thought about using this mould to add pretty birds to the front of the breadbox too.

But in the end I decided to go with the pretty new green shade and the cute froggy transfer.

SAND, CLEAN & PRIME

I began by lightly sanding the whole thing, cleaning well with TSP Alternative Cleaner and then priming with BIN Shellac Primer (to help cover and prevent bleedthru)

PAINT

Then once that was dry, I painted the interior white (Victorian Lace) and the exterior white and Acadia Pear.

I love Victorian Lace, it’s probably my favorite white!

ADD TRANSFERS

Once that’s fully dry, I added transfers. Froggy Meadow Greens. (linked above!)

This is kind of what I was thinking…

arranging transfers on bread box

This one is part of this transfer and I really wanted to use it somewhere but decided on other ones from the set instead. I’ll save this for something else in the future!

I cut as close to the frog one so I could place it in the corner of the back of the box.

I considered adding this one on the top.

But decided to leave it off. Oddly, that’s why I chose to paint the top white! Oh well, I like the clean look without it.

I didn’t get a chance to apply a topcoat sealer (over the transfers) before sharing today but will be using our Tough Coat Topcoat in Matte for that.

REVEAL

I’m loving this new green. To me, it’s a very sophisticated green. It would be beautiful on a dresser or something similar! Perfect for a furniture piece in a foyer, etc.

I feel like the frogs are peeking out from the corner there. So cute! (unless you don’t like frogs, of course! ha!!)

This breadbox went from the 80s/90s to today!

You’d never know there was an old country apple on the front! lol (and I laugh, but I had very similar decor in our home early in our marriage, early 90s!!)
