Good October Morning, Friends!
I hope you are all doing well on this brisk Saturday morning.
Well, brisk in my neck of the woods, anyway.
Today, we welcome a new month.
Yes, I know I’m a bit behind, but it’s been a busy two weeks.
I’m finally getting a chance to catch my breath.
So far, I witnessed the Northern Lights in my own backyard.
An extraordinary sight that I never thought I would see so close to home.

To say it was spectacular doesn’t really do it justice.
Then, not really ready to let go of summer, we picked up and spent some time at the ocean.
It was a gloriously warm day that reminded me why I love my island so much.

Then in a rare occurrence, we were able to arrange everyone’s schedules and took a family visit to a pumpkin farm.

And a Christmas shop…in the same afternoon.

Where Santa Claus lived in tiny village, right next door to Mr. Jack-O-Lantern.
In perfect harmony.
I was so taken with that idea, that I even took a short video.
Which got me thinking that there wasn’t any real reason why I couldn’t open my King Of Christmas box to see what treasure was hiding inside.
And {maybe} decorate a little.
Of course, that means my cottage is a tiny bit confused at the moment, with the living room partially dressed for Christmas.

While the rest of the house is decked out in pumpkins, ghosts and spiders.

Oh well, I guess that kind of mess is what happens when you live with a creative person. At least it’s a beautiful mess. 😉
Speaking of beautiful, let’s talk about these giveaways.
They come to us today, compliments of my friend and longtime reader, Terri. Years ago, I made rooster curtains and Terri was inspired to make her own.
Well, she no longer has a place for them so she sent them to me asking if I would like them or consider giving them away, since she herself won one of my giveaways years ago and remembers how fun it was to win.
Isn’t that the loveliest thing you’ve ever heard?
So today, I have TWO giveaways and you can enter both.

The first is for 2 stunning handmade rooster valances, trimmed with a darling chicken wire fabric…there were 3 but I’m keeping one as a table runner!
The two for the giveaway each measure about 15″ wide and 62″ long.
You can enter here:
The second giveaway is for the fabric that she generously sent along, too.

It’s a gorgeous array of rooster patterns and coordinating prints in different sizes. Enough for pillow covers, napkins, placemats, an apron…or to cover some glass cabinets.
Whatever your creativity commands.
You can enter here:
The giveaways will close at 2pm EST, Friday, October 18th and I’ll email the winners.
Good luck!
As for me, I’m hoping to spend the rest of October crafting, decorating and baking for fall.
And maybe, occasionally wander past the arched doors into the living room to listen to Christmas music and hang out with Santa.

I mean if the Christmas shoppe can lean into both holidays at once, why can’t I?
🎄🍂
Would you?
*Before you go, I’d like to take a moment, among all this merriment, to send my thoughts and prayers out to all those affected by the hurricanes.
I have family and friends in those areas. The firsthand stories and photos are just devastating and the heartbreak is truly overwhelming. So I’m sharing some information for those who’d like to help, but aren’t sure how…♡
Be well, friends.
