My style has definitely evolved over the years into a modern farmhouse vibe.
Adding a bit of modern in with our relaxed lake home has elevated it in a way I didn’t know was possible.
There are some key pieces that I think really make this look in our own home. I am sharing my modern farmhouse favorites with you today if this is a look you like and would like to expand on.
These items have served us well, are my tried and true favorites, nothing sponsored, just my personal opinion for what has worked for us over the years in decorating with this style.

These bookshelves are a dead ringer to the ones we have.
They are simple but have an industrial edge to them with the steel material. Very fun to style and the black color helps anchor the pieces.
We have these sconces in our kitchen and I love the elevated industrial look of them with the hints of gold.
We have 5 or 6 cowhide rugs in our home. Some brown ones in the basement and the rest are all white. I can’t imagine not having them! I love the organic shape of them and the rustic nature of them. If you don’t do real there is always faux options.
Cozy blankets are a must! We have baskets full of blankets. This one is our latest find.
I have talked about these outdoor lights on my instagram quite a bit. They are so inexpensive {literally a steal} look so high end and produce the best warm light by just poking them in the ground!
Our outdoor deck furniture is still my favorite years later. The sectionals are the perfect comfy spot to sit at the end of a long day, and the chairs add additional seating for company. Our new outdoor dining chairs have proven to be super comfy and stylish as well! Pair them with these cushions for the ultimate comfort.
The big white matting and slim metal edge on these frames make them my all time favorite. I have them in all sizes all throughout our home.
We have these chairs in our dining room and love the casual feel of them. Plus, you can’t beat the price.
Speaking of dining, our table continues to be the best purchase ever.
A good candle is always burning in our home. I like to take care of all the senses to create an experience. This one is my current favorite.
To warm things up I like to add in wood tones. I have stacks of these vintage wood bowls I use throughout our home.
I also love and collect vintage wood cutting boards.

These lanterns when paired with battery operated candles are the perfect addition to summer nights on the deck.
